SADDLEROCK ESTATe
Perfectly positioned at the crest of the Santa Monica Mountains, in the Saddle Rock-Malibu AVA, the Semler Estate vineyards are quite unique: The rocky terrain and steep south facing slopes provide the perfect environment for growing premium wine grapes. Planting started in 1997 with 14 acres of Cabernet and Merlot. Today the hillside vineyards consist of approximately 80,000 vines on 85 acres with eight varietals.
100% stainless steel fermentation in tank. Both vibrant and fragrant, with honeysuckle, peach, apricot, and a hint of lime zest that gives it a mineral dryness on the finish. A touch of fresh pineapple and light citrus show through bright acidity.

5% Malbec was added to this Merlot to add a little more depth and complexity. Once used barrels where selected to allow the subtle and pretty aromatics to shine. Low in alcohol, wild black raspberries, anise, mint, dried rose petals, and red plum soar from the glass. This medium bodied Merlot will pair well with just about anything.

The King of the Mountain is our Bordeaux style blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec. This wine takes it up a few notches with it's plush mid-palate, velvety tannins, and sophisticated aromatics and flavor profile. This wine saw about 20% new French oak, which adds beautifully to the dark, broad yet sweet and spicy finish. Plenty of dry extract helps frame the sleek core of blackberry and plum. This wine will pair well with your bigger dish off the grill.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is still quite primary and just starting to show what lies behind its dry tannic structure. Hints of lavender, old fashioned roses, anise, with a tight core of currant, as well as Santa Rosa plum. Vanilla bean from the new oak emerges mid way through the finish, where the dry dusty tannins clamp down. Also there is a wonderful core of minerality on the palate suggesting that those who cellar this wine for a few more years will be highly rewarded.
